Competitive by nature, being on a field or on a court is where I feel the happiest. I play multiple sports at the varsity level in high school and although I enjoy all of them, football is the one I am most drawn to.
In basketball the last 3 years I have made First Team All District, First Team All OVAC, and this year was named District III player of the year and made 1st team All State. I also play baseball and was the starting short stop and I also pitch.
Our school allows you to play 2 sports at a time as long as both coaches agree so I ran track and played baseball during spring sports my freshman and soph year. 300 hurdles was my strongest event. I made it to the state finals my freshman year and set an OVAC record my sophomore year.
Including accomplishments from other sports on my personal statement proves that I am a diverse athlete that can adapt with the different demands of each of these sports. I hope also to make apparent that I work well with different coaches, teams, and situations and put forth the effort to succeed in whatever I am involved in.
My family is very important to me. I have two older brothers, two older sisters and one younger brother. Sports has always played a big part of our lives. We are a very close family and they are a great source of support for me.
My parents both stress the importance of hard work and dedication and expect me to make good life decisions. I work with my dad doing construction during the summer. He tells me that waking up early and spending the day in the hot sun laying block or putting on a roof will make me stronger mentally and physically. Working has had a positive impact on me and has made me appreciate things that I wouldn't have otherwise.
I am working hard in school to keep my grades high and continue to lift and work out to try to get stronger and bigger. It has always been a dream of mine to play at the college level. I feel I would be an asset to any team. I have a great work ethic, handle pressure well and love the challenges of playing all sports. All I need is to be given the opportunity to prove my ability and potential.
