Football is my passion. There is nothing like running out onto the field on a Friday night with everyone you know cheering for you. The team is my second family, and I will fight for them until the end. My collegiate sports goals are pretty simple and straightforward: Play varsity football at the college level so that I may continue playing the sport I love. If I achieve that, then I plan to do whatever it takes to ensure that my team is successful. However, if I do not meet these goals, I will try my hardest to play this sport in any other way possible (Clubs, Intramural).
I may not be the most significant player out there, but I am continually pushing myself to improve my skills and strength. This past season, my team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Girard in the State Final-Four matchup, ending one of the most excellent playoff runs in the history of our program, as well as going down as one of it's best performances ever. Due to these results, I vowed that I would do whatever it takes to ensure our success the next year, my senior season. Therefore, I took time off from basketball and baseball to dedicate more time to prepare for the 2019 football season. As a result, I gained 35 pounds, improved my bench by 90 pounds, led the team in the weight room and through conditioning, became the most influential player on the side, and am now the senior leader of the defensive line.
I made a promise to my cousin Jarrod Hufford, an Iowa State University commit and LV football 2018 season senior, that I would "work my butt off until I get Baughman (Coach) that State title that he deserves so much." His response was, "I do not doubt that you will."
