My ambition is problem solving. Whether it be a mathematical problem or an obstacle in life. I am very committed to helping others, that being said, I plan to pursue a career in medicine. I am a straight A student and I am involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), my church youth group, football, basketball and power-lifting. Most importantly, I make time for my family. Without them, I would not have had the many opportunities I have had and hopefully will have.
I LOVE playing football!! I am devoted to my teammates and I push and encourage them to be better players everyday. My coach recently told me “Weldon, you’re the most committed guy on my team!” That lit a fire in me that drives me to never let him or my teammates down.
I am a very humble person, but I know that I am a great football player. However, I realize I still have a lot to learn and I look forward to it so I may be a better teammate and man.

- Melvin Hayes, offensive lineman for the New York Jets 1995-1996, was again my coach at this FBU camp. We continued to work on my explosiveness from my stance by doing rep after rep. I also worked on perfecting my stance by making sure my butt was down and my head was facing forward and making sure my feet are on the move. Coach Hayes favorite quote was "lazy feet get you beat!"

- I had the opportunity to attend Junior Day Football Camp and to be taught by several college coaches. I was able to show them what I was capable of on the offensive line and was instructed by some of the best coaches around. I left the camp knowing I was going to be a better player than I was before I got there.

- I had an awesome opportunity to be coached by coaches and team members of the Sooner football team. I learned several offensive plays and was able to perform them in the multiple scrimmages we had.

- Melvin Hayes, the offensive lineman from the New York Jets 1995-1996, was my coach. Since I was fairly new to football, he taught me the fundamentals of the offensive line. Coach Hayes told me time and time again "lazy feet get you beat!" I made sure that I moved my feet! I was thankful that I had such a great coach and look forward to going to the FBU in Louisiana so I can show Coach Hayes how hard I've been working on what he taught me.
