Starting on Varsity my freshman year in football and basketball was not only a big impact on me in my sports but also my personal life. Playing in big roles that early in my high school career showed me that there’s no time to wait or feel sorry for yourself and also that when there’s an opportunity you go take it, not just in sports but also in life. It also showed me about myself personally.
Missing the playoffs my freshman and sophomore year really felt like a disappointment. But, coming from not making the playoffs to hosting a game showed me what it takes to be a top team in the state of Oklahoma. It did not just show me what it takes but it also showed me more about myself. I realized that not making the playoffs my first two years may have helped me become who I am as an individual. It made me eager to win which made me have to step up. Stepping up made me see some of the characteristics I have, like being enthusiastic, a leader, and being brave enough to speak out and let my voice be a positive voice for the team. I plan on bringing these characteristics to college athletics and to the next step in my life and even adding more to make me a better athlete and a better person. I believe if you add me to your team I will be a positive impact on your team and community.
