I believe that everyone has a purpose in life and a talent to give to others. God gave me my athletic ability as my talent but it's my responsibility to develop and utilize it. I know there are always going to be players with more talent than me but I think that without hard work talent is nothing. I have and will continue to always work as hard as I can to be the best I can be for myself and my family as well as for my coaches and teammates.
I also believe it is important to not only set goals but to achieve them. Since the age of three I have played sports. I can't remember a time in my life that I wasn't playing so sports have been and still are a huge part of my life and have helped make me into the person I am today. One of my most important goals has always been to play a college level sport, which in turn will also help with the cost of me attending college, resulting in a better future for myself and my family. I am closer than ever to reaching that goal and know that I will.
I was taught from a very early age to never take for granted the talent that was given to me, to be grateful every day that I can use and share that talent with others and to always remain humble no matter how much I achieve or how successful I become. When I was younger I wanted to grow up and be just like my favorite players and actually still do. As hard as it is for me to imagine, there are little boys who have told me they want to grow up and be like me. That beats all the awards of ribbons and trophies or rings that I could ever win. Being told that makes all the sacrifices and hard work so worth it. Because I have been honored in that way, I try to always be not only the best player but person I can be and a positive role model both on and off the field for myself and for them.
