Heath Newland '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'2" offensive center from Edmond, OK. I have started on the Edmond North High School varsity team for 3 years. I started as a freshman in a 6A school. I made 1st team All-Edmond, 1st team All-Big City, and 2nd team All-State(all classes), 1st team All-State(6A class) this season as a junior. My roles as a leader on the offensive line have been present all 3 years. I make all pass blocking calls and make run blocking calls as well. I have a 3.1 GPA and a 25 ACT score.

I am looking for a university where I can find the right balance between the classroom and field. I would like to pursue a university with an outstanding academic reputation in the field of law. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could compete for a starting postion in the first couple years. I believe my best fit would be at the DI-A or DI-AA level, although I will absolutely consider the highest opportunities.
