First off, I want to thank God for the ability and skills to be a 3 sport athlete. Not only has it allowed me to grow as an athlete, but also as a man, a student, a friend and a leader. My goal is to continue developing these characteristics and skills at the collegiate level, while furthering my education.
I began playing football in 3rd grade. Once I reached high school, I knew that I wanted to play at the next level. I have had 3 different head coaches and coaching staff during my high school career. That was difficult, but it taught me to overcome obstacles that most people don't have to face. It made me realize that we had to support each other more as teammates and keep fighting for the win. I am a team player and my teammates look to me as a leader.
I am smaller than a lot of my teammates, but I never let that stop me. Instead, it motivated me to work harder to earn a position on varsity. I started on special teams on varsity my freshman year. Later that year, I joined a wrestling club to increase my mobility and strength. I placed 4th at the state wrestling championship my second year. I started varsity offense my sophomore and junior year of high school. I will also start varsity offense this year.
I don't let little things bother me. I use obstacles and difficulties as motivation. I believe that my character and actions are as important off the field, as on the field if I want to be successful.
