I love football. I love the physicality of it and the man to man competition of it on the line while also executing my task to make my team successful. I love the camaraderie of the game. My teammates rely on me and I rely on them. I also love the mental part of the game. Getting ready, being prepared, understanding our plan and the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent. I first started playing football in grade nine. Unfortunately, my experience in the game I love has been cut short due to covid restrictions. My room for growth is large. I have just started to tap into my potential.
I am a hardworking multi-sport athlete. I play football and basketball. I played soccer for many years. I am a United States citizen who grew up outside of Windsor, Ontario. I am a permanent resident of Canada. I am very coachable and I know the value of hard work. I also know the value of mental toughness and the need to see things through despite difficulty and unexpected events. I am one of five children. I know how to get along when needed and when to stand up for myself and others when needed.
I love the outdoors. I have worked as a tree trimmer and a landscaper because I love the physical work while also having the opportunity to be outside. I know the value of hard work, persistence and how to pace myself depending on the situation. Just like in football-sometimes its power, sometimes speed and most times both together.
I am very involved in my community and church. Some of my volunteer activities include raking leaves and shoveling snow for the elderly, participating in food drives for our local food bank as well as preparing and serving meals to those who are alone during the holiday seasons.
I am confident in my abilities and believe that I would be a great addition to a team. I also understand the need to improve, learn and earn my keep. I am willing to do the work and make the commitments needed for my success as a student athlete and the success of my team and the greater community. I like technology, problem solving, horror movies, the Office, and fixing things.
