Hello, my name is Brandon Boston and I am from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. My football journey has had lots of ups and downs, but my love for the game has not changed. Here's my Football story. (incomplete)
I started playing football in the 9th grade, back in the 8th grade, friends and classmates were telling me: "Try out for the Castlebrooke Football team, You'd be good at Football." so i decided to give it a chance. I did not enjoy it my first week but my mom told me to persevere and not quit. I ended up falling in love with the game, i didn't see much action my freshman year, but it didn't matter because i finally found a sport i was good at.
In 10th grade I started every game at DT, made a few tackles and even caught an interception, that was surreal. That season was amazing.
In 11th grade I started every game but 2 at DT, again, I made a few tackles and even had a TFL. That season was when I decided I wanted to play football in the states and take football more seriously.
Going into my senior year I decided I wanted to switch to the Offensive Line because I felt like I would do better on the other side of the ball.
When my senior year came, I was greeted with the news that my school dropped the football team. I was devastated. That really ruined my senior year.
I decided to play Rep (or Club) football for the Brampton Bulldogs and it was a great choice. I didn't start a single game that year for Brampton, but I really became a better player and I learned so much thanks to the coaches.
I decided to come back to my high school for a 5th year (I graduated the year before) to hopefully play one last year of Football. After a few days back and a couple of practices, the coaches decided not to bring the team back and I withdrew that same week.
I was at an impasse, what should I do? I decided to reclassify and play one last year with Brampton.
That last year was the best season of my life. I started 7 games for the Bulldogs that year. 3 at LG, 2 at RG, and 2 at RT. I became even better as a Football player and found my best position: at guard.
My journey had a lot of bumps in the road, but i stayed positive and never gave up. I will bring this same attitude to the Collegiate level, I will also bring heart, dedication, passion, and a willingness to learn that are unmatched.
Thank you for reading,
Brandon Boston
