I first became interested in football in elementary school when I noticed my friends playing during recess. When I began to play with them, I knew very little about the sport. Although I found myself catching on very quickly and began to make impacts in the small pick up games we played. After a while of playing in the school yard, I realized that football was not like the other sports I had previously played. It was not a sport that one person could dominate on their own. It was a sport that required a high level of teamwork and effort to achieve success.
I would say that I am someone you can always rely on no matter the circumstance. Whether it be in the classroom, weight room or the football field. I am someone who will always put my maximum effort in and get the job in front of me done. I believe I am someone who is very easy to coach and can adapt to any position or scheme very quickly without any resistance or complaints. I will listen to the coaches advice and try to use it to better my skills. Overall, I believe I am a respectful, considerate and responsible player and person that has aspirations to helping your team win a championship in the upcoming season.
As a middle linebacker, the best part of the position is the level of leadership and dominancy that comes along with it. Being in the heart of the defence requires confidence, strength and a competitive edge that sets you aside from anyone else on the field. I find that as a linebacker, these traits can dictate the success of both your team and the opposition. I thrive off the feeling of knowing I can make a difference in the game and impact the next play. It only takes one person to harbour this feeling on a football field, because once its present, your teammates thrive off it and turn it into their own fuel. Knowing that I can be the factor my teammates feed off of, is probably the most humbling part about my position.
In terms of my academic plans for the future, I intend to study business as my major. I do not have a chosen school in mind but I am interested in some programs that regard different aspects of business such as commerce, finance, marketing and accounting. I aspire to go as far as football will take me. From where I am right now, the next step is playing at the university level. I have not picked a specific team I wish to play for. I am grateful for any opportunity that comes my way and am willing to consider everything. All I know is that if there is a chance to play football for a team who sees potential in me, I will be very considerate and appreciative for that opportunity.
