I have been playing tackle football since 2019 with several clubs and 7 seasons. Beginning my football journey, I was a linebacker for Port Dover Steelheads and received defensive MVP award however when needed on offence, it was quickly discovered I was able to adapt and run the ball in each carry, totalling 3 touchdowns and 160 yards in 1 game.
I show up to every practice and game with a winning attitude, a passion for success and a talent to be admired. I put the work into my off season with as many training camps, track events and workouts as possible and not only bring my A game but also a leadership mentality, helping others less experienced to learn their positions and plays. I have been recognized by every coach over the seasons as a leader of my team no matter what position I play, with awards for offensive, defensive, special teams and team mvp and recognized by Football Ontario for my performance with the AAA U14 Ticats this past season where I became their primary running back within the first 2 games and a team captain before end of season. Moving onto high school, I am currently a starting flex receiver on a varsity team and am utilized on almost every play. I am often directing other players by explaining the plays and helping them to understand the game. Outside of football, I am constantly focused on improvement with skills camps, 7v7 football, flag football and I love helping my little sister develop her love of the game and improve on her skills as a player.
I also put my effort into my schoolwork, setting the example of what it means to be a student athlete with a 90% average in all my current classes and I volunteer with our local cat rescue as well as assisting younger kids wanting to learn about athletics. I was recognized by Norfolk County as the 2023/2024 athlete of the year and set a new record in the Grand Erie district school board for my performance in the 400 m race as well as taking 1st place in both 100 m and long jump.
Despite all of these achievements, I do continue to look for opportunities to improve my skills and working with others to improve theirs with encouragement and enthusiasm because I believe there is always more to learn.
