My name is Alex Obeldobel and I just completed my senior year on my varsity football team. I started on both both offense and defense. I have loved the game of football ever since I learned to walk. Even as a young child, I was always throwing and catching football. My love for football continued through seven years of youth football, junior high, junior varsity, and varsity. I am a versatile player that has played many different positions. My primary positions are wide-receiver and safety.
One of the assets that I bring to a team is my understanding of the game of football. I often help my teammates learn their positions and plays. In addition, I am a hardworking athlete and my work ethic is strong. I have never had to sit out due to injury and have been available to cover other positions when my teammates are hurt. I attend all voluntary practices, weight lifting sessions, and have participated in strength and endurance training outside of the regular season. Although football is my favorite sport by far, I also wrestle and run track. I thrive on competition and the adrenaline rush I feel when I am on the field, mat, or track. In addition, I currently enjoy volunteering as an assistant coach for a local youth football team.
Sports are very important to me but academics are equally important. I have a 3.6 grade point average and have taken many honors classes. I am responsible and organized which assists me in being successful in my classes. My goals are to attend a college or university with a strong academic program and to play college football. My long term goal is to work in the criminology/law enforcement field. I plan to work very hard to meet these goals and to be successful in college, football, and life in general.
