Dear Prospective Coach,
I am a student athlete who pushes myself to be better than I was yesterday. My freshman and sophomore year I was one of the smallest players on my high school football team. I knew I was going to grow and I became committed to making sure my body and strength were ready when I did. I started a regular lifting routine and intensity work outs with running, while I increased my amount of supplements and proteins. I gained 20 lbs of muscle and grew 4 inches in less than a year. As a freshman I started my freshman year at 106 lbs and 5'1" and this year in 2021 I stand 6' and 154 lbs. I am I am pumped to be able to go on the field this year and look eye level with my teammates as I dominate and lock down my position. I have a huge love for defense and my desire to play ball is defined by my hard work. I firmly believe that off season is not the time to procrastinate but a time to train for the season.
I am also on the Varsity wrestling team this year and had an amazing record of 8-4 (6 pins) this past season at 145 lbs and 152 lbs, when I only weighed in at 138 lbs. My freshman year I played lacrosse and received my Varsity letter, but decided to join track and field my sophomore year. Last spring was my 1st year on the Track and Field team at Daniel Boone High School. I competed in the 100 meter, the javelin, and the pole vault.
Strength, speed, and power are not the only aspects of my life though. I am very family oriented and faithful in my spiritual beliefs. This past virtual year was more challenging then I thought it would be with many of my classes being asynchronous, but I really excelled in advanced Chemistry, Advanced Social Studies and Level 2 Spanish. As I step into my Junior year curriculum I am challenging myself with honors Chemistry and Social Studies and continuing my Spanish to level 3. I have selected undeclared as my major, as I am a very devoted person when I commit to something and want to refrain from deciding upon a major until I can fully commit to it. I like to work hard in all aspects of my life and make an impact in what I am involved with. I have a desire to please my coaches, my family, and my teachers and am excited for an opportunity to play football at the next level.
Unfortunately, I do not have 10th grade football highlights due to the restrictions of Covid that were in place with spectators and videotaping permissions.
