My name is Dan Nardo. I am a 6’2” 195 lb tight end, long snapper, and linebacker for Upper Dublin High School. I have been playing football since first grade and have played almost every position since then. I feel that is why I bring a high IQ of the game to my team.
During my freshman season at UDHS I had 5 touchdowns and 12 sacks. I played several positions from tight end to quarterback. Wherever the team needed me, I was willing to play. Sophomore year I was injured in the first game of the season but made it back to earn a starting position by the end of the season. Junior year I started every game at tight end and long snapper and one game at outside linebacker.
My other favorite sport has been basketball. I was lucky enough to join a local AAU team in 7th grade that made it to Nationals 2 years in a row where I played power forward. I played for that team until my freshman year. This year I decided to concentrate on my first love, football, where I hope to play in college. In order to keep myself in shape for football season, I have joined the wrestling team and will play lacrosse (which I played for many years before AAU basketball) on defense in the Spring.
My plans for a career aren’t set yet, but one thing I know I want to do is coach. I’ve volunteered in the past coaching younger kids in our local CYO basketball league. Last summer I volunteer coached the 7th/8th grade township football team. This coming summer I would like to volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club in our town working with kids. I am also interested in music especially producing and style. I would love to become a coach at the college level after my playing career is over. I read as much as I can about every aspect of football. If I were to become a coach I would want to work as an offensive coordinator, special teams coordinator or tight ends coach.
I’m looking forward to continuing my football career into college where I will bring a strong work ethic and desire to learn to become better at the game I love to play.
