Gus Yocum '20 Recruiting Profile

I'm a junior at Palisades High School in Kintnersville, PA. I started playing football when I was in kindergarten. During fourth grade I moved and it was hard for me to play because of the custody order with my parents. Once I got into eighth grade I realized that I couldn't go without playing because I missed it to much. My parents live very far apart so playing football in high school would be virtually impossible, but I went to court to stand up for my love for football and be able to play in high school. Since I've gotten to high school I lettered every year. My teammates and coaches have always thought of me as a hard worker and a leader on the team. I always give everything my all so I don't let myself, my teammates, or my coaches down. I play for one coach in particular, Tom Poynton. The summer going into my freshman year he passed away due to a freak accident and it brought my teammates, coaches, and community together to form a bond and become a family. Every time I play, I play for him. I do everything to make him proud and never forget the impact he had on me and everyone around me. Im very athletic, I've been playing sports for as long as I can remember, from Football to baseball and to track. I hold myself to a very high standard with my grades. I try to be the best student possible by doing all my homework, studying for test, and paying attention in class. For all the reasons I've listen and my love and commitment towards the game of football I believe that I would be a great addition to your team.
