Hello, I am Tristan Cannon, a football player in Pennsylvania and I am now focused on becoming a college football player. My love for football began when I was nine years old, watching football with my dad, playing catch, and joining a team. As I started playing, I quickly became hooked on the fast pace of the game, the strategy behind the plays, and the rush of making a big hit or tackle. Through football, I have learned the importance of commitment, where every player on a team must do their job for the team to achieve success. I do know and am learning that mistakes are just a steppingstone to excellence.
We are taught, you must work hard work and have perseverance regardless of what stands in your way. I am always working to improve my skills and technique on the field and in the classroom. I realize that success is a moving target a journey. It’s something I trying to learn, sometimes you fail along the way, but you cannot let that distract you what the goal and your success really is. I am grateful for the lessons and know I have many opportunities that lie ahead. I am confident that I can achieve my dreams with focus and hard work and make a meaningful impact both on and off the football field.
My football IQ, such as my understanding of offensive formations and the plays ran from those formations combined with my ability to beat opponents off the ball, have earned me the title of Varsity Defensive Player of the Year as a junior on my high school team. I am also a creative and intuitive thinker and have the endurance to keep getting up after giving or taking a hit. One of my favorite quotes that I have based my life on is “It isn’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward" Please know one thing, I am truly committed to achieving my goals both on and off the field in college, where I hope to study Business and Engineering, meet new people, and push myself both athletically and academically as I continue my journey.
