My name is Ty Banco. I’m the third son of four. I am a three sport athlete. I play football, I wrestle, (215lb previous and now heavyweight), as well as play baseball. I hope to continue playing all 3 sports for the rest of my high school career. I have been selected by my teammates and coaches as the Captain of our Varsity Football Team for my junior year, as a Sophomore and Junior for Varsity wrestling and as a Junior for Varsity Baseball. 2022 PA ALL STATE 1st Team OL. I am a 3x 1st Team DT and OG/OT for the AAAA Big 8 All Conference. PA Preps 2020 2021 2022 Defensive Lineman of the Year, Top 10 PA Preps 2023 Football Candidates, Top Recruit from class of 2023. I am a 3x Bill Fralic Award Nominee AND Senior Finalist nominated by my coaches as well as the WPIAL coaches as a sophomore and again as junior, an award reserved for seniors. Recognized by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette as a top defensive player in the WPIAL. Named the Observer Reporter’s Athlete of the Week. Named as 2x Observer Reporter’s Terrific 22 and 3x to the OR All District Team. Named one of the top 10 Football Athletes for the 2021-22 school year by the Observer Reporter. I have been a two way starter on varsity for football on both offense and defense my whole high school, middle school and elementary careers. As a freshman, a sophomore and as a junior I made the Varsity teams for football, (started both offense and defense), wrestling, and baseball, lettering for all. I recently broke my high school’s wrestling most pins in a season record at 29. I am on track for 100 career wrestling wins my senior year. I am a team captain for our Varsity wrestling team. I am the current WPIAL wrestling section 4 champion 2020/21. I placed 3rd overall in the WPIAL wrestling championship 2020-21 am a state qualifier and finished the wrestling season as a top 10 wrestler in the state for my weight class. In 2021-22 season I broke the school record for the most pins in a season at 29. I was selected as the Trinity High School Wrestler of the Year for 2020-21. I finished my 2020-21 sophomore Varsity baseball season with the highest batting average on the team .346. I was the 2019 Pennsylvania Jr High Wrestling State Champion for the 212lb weight class. I work out with a personal trainer to improve my strength, speed and agility.. I also train at the All American Wrestling Club with the great Coach Rob Waller. I was selected to represent my county to be on the 2018 Pony League World Series Baseball Team. I have served on several community services clubs, I have been elected to Student Council since I was in the 6th grade and I recently ran for Senior Student Body VP and won. I’m a hard worker, I’m coachable and an excellent teammate. I’m determined to play at the next level and I will do whatever it takes to get there. My work ethic, my drive to be the best and my selflessness makes me one of the best players on the field or on the mat. I’m very appreciative of my family, friends and all of my coaches and teammates for their continued support. I would not be the person I am today, nor would I have achieved all that I have so far at my age without them and my faith. It would be a privilege to play in college, one I would not take for granted.
