Hello-
I am Chris Barrett and I play quarterback for Valley Forge Military Academy. I am 6 feet 2 inches, weigh 215 pounds, run a 4.9 40 yard dash, bench 220, squat 310, and throw 65 yards. Last football season was one of the best seasons anyone could ask for. Our Varsity team went undefeated and we receieved the award of being prepatory school national champions. Our JV team had a good season as well. We had a 2-1 record including our opening day 36-0 shut out against George School in which I accounted for over 300 yards passing, 4 touchdowns, and threw 12 completions out of 16 attempts. My season included a 39-64 completion ratio with a 61 % completion percentage, 723 yards passing and 8 touchdowns for my overall statistics. I recieved a varsity and jv letter, was the varsity and jv captain, and recieved an invitation to Football University. As a leader on my football team I lead by example by being the first one out on the field and the last one to leave. However, without the support of my teammates, family, and friends, none of these accomplishments would have been possible.
As a student, I approach school just as I do with football. I am always the first one in the classroom, and always ask questions when I have trouble understanding what is going on. Currently I have a 3.45 GPA and take the SATs this summer. I have recieved the national society of high school scholarships, and have made the honor roll 5 times in my high school career. My current profession I am pursuing is Psychology while minoring in sociology. My english teacher, Anthony Herman and my psychology teacher Michael Pachella have been the toughest teachers I've ever had, but also the best. Without them, I would not have been as dedicated to school as I am towards football. They have shown me that being a great football player means being a great student as well.
Personally, I would love to play for any college that will allow me to play college football. If I had to choose what type of school I would want to go to it would be a school in the south or west coast with great acdemics as well as a football team with a system that fits my style of play. Since I am primarily a pro-style drop back passer it would be a college who loves to pass the ball. I would also like to go to a big school as well to be around a large group of people where I can compete against a large group of people in academics and football so that it will challenge me and hopefully show that I can stand out above the rest.
Currently, my family is in a need for financhal aid for my schooling. My mother is unemployed while my step father works warehousing. If Financhal Aid can be provided it would definitly benefit hel[ping me get into college.
Ultimately, to play at the college level as freshman is my ultimate goal. I believe that playing as freshman will make me a better player for the following seasons on that I play football. I LOVE competition and I believe that competition makes you better and that hard work pays off. All of my life, I have worked hard for everything I have earned. I promise that if you give me an oppurtunity to play for your school I will earn that oppurtunity to play and give everything I have and push myself over my limits on and off the field.
