Charles-Xavier Owens '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Xavier Owens, I play quarterback for the Vanier Cheetahs, I am 6'2'' and weigh 200lbs. I currently a 4.7 40 yard dash. My coaches always told me that I was a natural leader. The reason for this is that I treat every single one of my teammates equally and that I truly care for all of them. I truly want them to have success in everything they do and I push them to reach for excellence on and off the field. I have also always been compared to Joe Montana because of his composure during the game and inside the pocket. This allows me to be consistent and to regroup after a bad start or get a big comeback win. I have never (in my entire five year career) surrendered a second half lead. I am always looking for ways to become a better quarterback weather if it is by spending countless hours of working out or of consulting my coach about game plans, reads and technique outside of practice time. I strive to not only be the best prepared I can be but to be the best overall athlete possible. Personally, I enjoy bigger schools with good academics. I do not want to attend a Christian only school or any other school that has this type of restriction. My family does need financial aid in order for me to go to college. I have not yet decided what major I want to pursue. My goal is to simply play at highest level I can, obtain a great education and to have a positive impact on the team and hopefully inspire my teammates to reach for greatness in all aspects of their lives.
