Personal Statement

Hi coach,

My name is Jakob Chenail Martino. I am 17 years old and I am a football player who plays in Canada. I play football in a small school named Séminaire de Sherbrooke in Sherbrooke City located in the province of Quebec where I am one of the captains in the football team. I sent you an email today because I saw your football program and the benefits that this school can give me and I found it excellent for me. This is why I try my chances with you and your school to go play football in the USA and achieve one of my goals in life. My positions are LB and Defensive end. I measure 5’10’’ and my weight is 180 pounds. Despite my small size, I swear that I know how to hit hard, play fast and read the play correctly. I work hard every day on and off the field to improve my football skills, my football IQ and my grades. I train every day in the gym, I go running 4 times a week and I take care of my alimentation. During my practice, I like being pushed beyond my limits, because I know this is how I will be better in football. I say this to you to prove to you that I am not joking about the fact that I am serious in the process of being the best football player that I can. I also received some prizes in the football program like the defensive MVP and some other prizes in other sports like sportsmanship in hockey where I am an assistant. I also play rugby.

I know that school is important for you. I will not lie about the fact that I can have some difficulty in school. However, I work very hard to have good grades. Since I started High School, I have received a lot of prizes for my academic perseverance. I go see my teacher during lunch break and they help me understand what I don’t. Like I say, I do what I can do to be great on and off the field.

Thank you for having read my email and I am waiting to hear from you.
