My sister and I have been fortunate enough to be raised in two parent household. Our parents are both very successful professionals. The foundation of our household is a very strong belief in God and in the value of education. My Grandparents were both educators in the Memphis City School system. They were critically important in me and my sister's early preschool development as we were both reading short books before starting kindergarten.
Education has always been stressed in our house. My Sister is currently in her Junior year at Xavier University of Louisiana and is a Pre-Pharmacy Major. I would like to follow the family tradition and obtain an undergraduate degree as well as an advanced degree in the field of law.
My motivation for wanting to study law is due to the injustices that are constantly taken place and are consistently in the headlines on every news outlet across this country. Our legal system has many flaws in its interpretation and application of laws specifically as it relates to women and minorities and I would like be a part of correcting that.
My father and I have a creed that we always reference. “Gentleman, Scholar, Athlete in that order”. That’s the way I try to conduct myself in all of my endeavors. It doesn’t take much effort to be a gentleman but it sets a foundation of mutual respect. Scholarship is nothing that anyone can ever take away from so you need to get all you can. I have been blessed with some great God-Given ability and I am charged to use all of God’s gifts to the best of my ability to glorify him.
I am looking for an opportunity to continue my education at an institution of higher learning in order to achieve my goal of becoming an attorney. I am also looking to leverage my athletic talents to supplement the costs of my higher education. What I will bring to your program is the creed that I live by and how it pushes me to be best student-athlete I can be. I am looking forward to this recruiting journey.
