Benjamin Ogle '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Benjamin Ogle. I am senior at Greeneville High School in Greeneville, TN. I've loved playing sports all my life, whether it is baseball, basketball, soccer or football. I began playing football in middle school and played wide receiver and also did some kicking. When I started high school, I tried out for both positions. The kicker on the team at the time was not performing to the caliber my coach wanted, so I was given the opportunity to kick as a freshman. Soon, I was doing all the kickoffs, extra points and field goals. My freshman year I was 42/43 on extra points. My sophomore year I became the starting kicker and was able to finish the season with 70/72 on extra points with a 47 yard field goal being my longest. When I was a junior I was 94/97 on extra points and kicked a 49 yard field goal during the state championship game. This past season I hit another 49 yarder and a 57 yarder to break the school record.In summary, I have had four years of experience as a starting kicker. I have been to several kicking camps including one with Doug Blevins, the UT Summer Kicking camp twice, the National Underclassman Combine in Atlanta, Chris Sailer's National Kicking camp in Las Vegas. a Kohl's kicking camp in Knoxville, TN;and Chris Sailer's Nike Spring Camp in Charlotte. I attended multiple camps this summer,from schools such as UK, U of L, MTSU, Vanderbilt, UAB;and Appalachian State in NC. I have been named All-County, All-Conference, and All-State Class 4A Kicker for the past two years. I am blessed to have been successful in my kicking career and strongly desire to continue my career at the college level. I am six feet tall and 180 pounds, thanks to my high school's year-round weight-lifing program. My high school had never been to the TSSAA state championships until the past three years. For the first time in school history we were able to come home as two time state champions. Being part of a successful program has been such a great experience, but most importantly, I have enjoyed being part of a team that places a great emphasis on the importance of each man on the field. I enjoy working hard with my teammates in practice because we all have the same desire and drive to win. I have high expectations for myself in all aspects of my life. Academically and physically I work hard to put forth the best person I can be. I have committed to Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN
