I'm an extremely competitive person in the classroom as well as on the playing field. I currently have a 3.6 GPA and an ACT score of 24. I've played multiple sports since I was 3, including baseball, basketball, soccer, golf and football a couple of years when I was younger in little league and middle school. I started kicking around age 5 and got my first kicking video at 9 years old. I have practiced mostly as a hobby for years but for the past year it became a passion for me. My junior year I made the decision to play and kick for my high school football team my senior year. I've worked consistently for the past year at improving my technique as well as strengthening my leg. I've recently improved my personal best from a 35 yarder to a 50. I also attended a James Wilhoit Kicking camp over the summer and gained confidence in knowing I can be competitive while still learning and improving. I was recently named All Region Special Teams Player of the Year as a first year kicker. While I only have one year of actual experience kicking for a team, I've worked off and on for years and while I do regret not playing all four years of high school, I also think it gives me an advantage to not have worn my leg and body out. I'm fresh and ready to continue to improve on my personal best of a 50 yard FG in practice and 39 yards in a game!
I think I would be an excellent candidate for your team because of my passion to get better, my work ethic and attention to detail. I am a perfectionist and am not satisfied unless it is right. I have also coached in the local jr. pro leagues, helping out the youth like I have been helped years before. I believe it is important to give back because we are beyond blessed and we, as athletes, have a huge impact on our local youth.
