Turned 18 in November 2013 and graduate in May 2014.
Grant Howell, a big, fast, athletic 6'3" 215 lb OLB, playing for Christian Brothers High School, one of Tennessee's top tier academic/athletic programs in Memphis,TN. CBHS is in the big private schools division and regularly turns out several D1 recruits. Grant was one of state's leading tacklers this season and currently runs 4.75 40 and will easily be able to carry another 20+lbs on his frame. 4 year varsity athlete at primarily OLB and has played all LB positions.. He could also be looked at safety as several have asked. He should easily be able to play at 6'3" 230+lbs as OLB who can fly all over the field. This is where several coaches seem to be leaning and a couple who have mentioned keeping him around 215lbs and running as a big safety. Benches 275 (having a long wingspan of 75 inches), squats 400 lbs, currently in 1000lb lifting club and all numbers will improve, including speed times. Autozone HS All-Star nominee and after invitation camp this past summer was chosen to participate in FBU's "Top Gun" invitational in Virginia which included recommendations from former NFL Defensive Coordinator (Jets/Chargers) and current NFL rules committee head Ted Cottrell. With god-given size, speed, abilities and all the coaching resources/training that are provided at CBHS, he continues to prosper in the classroom and on the football field with a great work ethic. He has flown under the recruiting radar last 2 years because of minor injuries. Because of his size, speed and strength coaches have a lot of options and his best football lies ahead. Thanks for your time.
