Michael Shaw '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Michael Shaw and I am a senior at Nederland High School. I have been a member of the Nederland Bulldog football team in Nederland, TX and am proud to say that we ended our careers as 2-time, back to back, undefeated District 20-4A District Champions. In 2011, we were Area Champions and this season we improved on that and were State Quarterfinalists. I was a 2nd team All District WR as a junior and for my senior campaign, I was recognized as 1st team All District on both offense (WR) and defense (DB). I was also recognized as a "Super Team" selection by our local media. The Super Team is an All SE Texas team comprised of all classifications. I also led our district in punt returns for the 2012 season. I scored 11 TD's in my senior campaign and finished my career with 76 receptions for 978 yards and 11 TD's. I also rushed 25 times for 301 yards with 3 more scores and I have added a punt return and interception returns for TD's as well. My biggest asset is my speed. I have run sub 4.5 40 yard dashes on several occassions and I am also very quick. I have also proven to have very good hands and the ability to make big plays for my team.
I am also a multi sport athlete.  As a sophmore, I lettered in football and track. In my junior year, I lettered in football, track, and baseball.  As a senior, I will letter in football, basketball, track, and baseball. During my sophmore and junior track seasons, I was a regional qualifier on our 4X100 meter relay team.  I also attended the Official Player Watch Combine in Houston and won the "Fastest Player" award in March of 2012.

I am looking for a school where I will have the ability to use my talents and contribute to a successful team while being able to further my education at the same time.  My familiy lives in Texas, so schools in the South appeal to me much more.  I have not quite decided on a major yet, but I do have some interest in either the financial field or possibly dentistry.
