Riley Peterson '16 Recruiting Profile

I have two career goals that I am determined to accomplish. I will get at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Business as my aspiration for the future is to become an executive in the business world. At the same time, I would like to play football and represent my school. I firmly believe both of these things can be done at the same time, and I am capable of doing it. The qualities I possess that make me an outstanding recruit are my dedication, my athletic ability, and my personality. I have played in organized football leagues since I was 7 and have been the captain of the teams regularly. A comment made about me frequently by others is the fact that I am a positive influence and a motivator for the team to do their best. I feel strongly that athletics can build a person’s character if taken seriously. I listen and follow directions given, and I do my best to help my teammates do the same. It is very important to be a team player in any athletic event, which is something my character, definitely reflects. I believe a team determines the outcome by the attitudes of their members. A positive attitude and teamwork can move a team to be successful. This is what I have practiced as a captain or player of any team I have been on. I have excelled in many sports since I was 7 and played on organized teams in basketball, baseball, football, and wrestling. This has given me a well- rounded approach to different athletic teams and many different coaches and coaching styles. I found that football is the sport that I enjoy the most, so I have focused my attention the last two years on perfecting my skills in it. At the same time, I know how important my academic learning is and have been able to be successful in classes as well as play athletics for my school. It is very important to me that I achieve both academic and athletic success in my life, and I will dedicate myself to accomplishing this. Working through both academics and athletics, I will continue to develop character traits that are ones I can be proud of.
