Hello, my name is Thomas Kennedy. I am a 6'0" , 235 lb Class of 2013 senior at Lord Botetourt High School in Daleville, Virginia. I currently carry a 3.5 GPA.
I have started on varsity all my years of high school. In those four years, on offense I have played right guard, right tackle, center, left guard, fullback and tight end. On Defense I have played inside linebacker, outside linebacker, nose guard and def. end. I have played special teams and my senior year I was our long snapper.
My freshman year I was asked to move from fullback to right guard where I started on the varsity line with 4 seniors. I also played backup Mike LB behind a senior and also some at def. end and had 14 tackles for the season.
My sophomore year I started at mike lb and had 116 tackles (2nd on our team). I was asked to move from right guard to center on offense and started 7 games. I broke my right thumb in the 7th game and was moved to left guard for the last 3 games while also still starting at mike linebacker having an 18 tackle game. I received my teams "Jim Walker Award" as the teams hardest worker.
My junior year, I was moved back to fullback while also continuing to start at mike linebacker where I led our team in tackles. Due to injuries, the last 5 games of the season, I was moved to tight end to help with our line blocking and I had 12 receptions in 5 games. I was named 2nd Team All Blue Ridge District at MLB and honl. mention at TE. I participated for the first time in indoor and outdoor track where I finished 6th in the region and ranked 11th in the Timesland area in the shot put.
My senior year, I started at MLB and TE under a new head coach and staff. I led our team in tackles for the third year and finished as our schools all time career tackles leader with 355 total tackles. I also caught 9 passes on a 90% run offense and blocked for an 1800 yard rusher. I was named 1st team All Blue Ridge Dist. at MLB & TE, 2nd Team All Region at TE and Hon. Mention at MLB, and 2nd Team All Timesland at TE.
I would like to play linebacker or fullback in college but I am willing and can play multiple positions if needed. I am a total team player and will do what is necessary to help the team win. I can catch the ball very well for someone my size. I would like to attend a college that I could contribute to as a freshman or redshirt and contribute as a sophomore and one where I could connect with other Christian athletes.
For my families needs, we would like to have some level of financial aid if it is available, but if not, we will not rule out schools if they are the right fit. I would like to play in the mid-atlantic region if possible. I have not decided on a major at this time. Thank you for taking time to view my profile.
