My name is Jalen L. Jackson and I attend Northside High School located in Roanoke, Virginia.
I am a competitive student athlete. I play football, basketball, and baseball. I have worked extremely hard to compete at a high level in all three sports. My overall athleticism is displayed in all three sports.
I enjoy playing football and basketball most of all because of the constant tempo and focus involved in competition. I have received thirteen years of football and basketball coaching and instruction. I have made a concerted effort to become a better student of the game in respect to these two sports. In the off-season I make diligent strides to improve mentally and physically.
In football, I have played wide-receiver, H-Back and Quarterback. I am the starting Quarterback at Northside High School and leader of our football team. I continuously work at improving my leadership skills, pass accuracy, arm strength, footwork, decision making and having a better overall understanding of the game. I am often praised for having poise in the pocket and a calm demeanor under duress. I enjoy reading defensive coverages and making correct reads to find the open man. I have the ability to extend plays and advance the football.
In basketball, I have played all five positions but I am most comfortable and have had success as a shooting guard. I am a excellent three-point shooter and I pride myself on being a premier defender. I enjoy on the ball physicality and competition.
I never give up - on or off the field/court. My plans are to attend college, be a successful student athlete, and graduate from that institution with a degree and the skills necessary to be successful in my adult-life.
