My family moved to Roanoke, Virginia the summer prior to my freshman year. They chose Roanoke Catholic based on our priorities of faith, academics, and athletics. While moving to a new town and school presented its challenges, I quickly found that Roanoke Catholic offered me opportunities to excel in their rigorous academic program as well as athletics. In a collegiate setting, I am looking for the opportunity to continue my education at the highest level possible while participating in a sport I love.
During my three years at Roanoke Catholic, I have shown that I can balance advanced academic coursework while being a three-sport athlete. I have achieved honors in both academics and athletics during this time. The Roanoke Catholic football team has competed for the State Championship all three years that I have attended. I have been fortunate to be a starter all three seasons, and have been able to support the team by filling a variety of roles and positions. Being a part of a small team has taught me the importance of commitment, sacrifice, and selflessness year round. I feel my leadership skills, character, work ethic, and athletic abilities would make me a valuable addition to your team.
Thank you,
Alex Vaught
