This introduction is to highlight my academic goals, ambitions, and accomplishments, and to express my overwhelming desire to play football for a college or university seeking the best young talent emerging from top High School programs. As a junior, I currently hold a 3.4 GPA with a majority of my course work in Honors classes. Additionally, I am an active member of my high school Key Club and Track & Field team member. Academically, my high school goal is to obtain a competitive GPA, which will allow me to attend the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) ranked college or university of my choice. Through active on-line research, I have found a correlation between top performing collegiate football teams and schools that demand high academic standards; I believe my athletic abilities as a corner-back and wide-receiver along with my high academic goals and achievements will demonstrate to you that I have the talent to excel at both. My long-term goal is to eventually attend a nationally recognized medical school; I have always been very passionate about medicine and someday I hope to study Oncology and help find a cure for cancer. As a football player, I currently stand 5 ft. 8 in, 165 lbs. Although this may not seem impressive, it is my passion to play football that makes me stand out from my peers. In 2009, I attended the Seattle Seahawk sponsored Sports International Football Camp; I received the Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Wide Receiver, signed and presented by Seattle Seahawk’s Corner Back Marcus Trufant. In 2010, I attended my second Seattle Seahawk sponsored Sports International Football Camp and received the Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Defensive Back, signed and presented by Seattle Seahawk’s Safety Lawyer Milloy. During the2010 football season, our high school team went undefeated. It was the first time in North Thurston High School history that the freshman team had gone undefeated. For 2011, I attended our two week high school football training camp; University of Washington Football Camp; and Oregon Ducks Football Camp. In 2012, I attended our two week high school football training camp; University of Washington Football Camp; Oregon Ducks Football Camp; and participated in the Northwest Rising Stars showcase of talent, where coaches from 27 Colleges and Universities from around the nation were in attendance. As a player for the North Thurston High School varsity football team, we finished the 2012 season ranked fifth in the state, This past year marked my sixth season playing football; most of those years I have been played as a first-string defensive-back, but I am equally talented as a wide-receiver. I have always been a huge leader in the defense, accounting for many interceptions and open-field tackles; although my passion is in playing as a wide-receiver. First and foremost, I am a team player, and I really enjoy expressing my leadership on the field. I hope my personal statement gives you an idea as to who I am and what I can bring to a winning team. My life objectives are simple; never give up, never say no, and always keep a can do attitude. I encourage you to consider me for your academic and athletic program as I honestly believe I have what it takes to be a winner, leader, and team member.
