I am Dylan Thiel, center and linebacker for the Bethel High School Varsity football team and class of 2019. I am committed to meeting my personal goals by increasing my strength and agility through year-round lifting and workouts. I am dedicated to building strong bonds with my teammates and pushing them to become better versions of themselves. I show leadership through my determination to exceed team and coaching staff expectations. I earned the team award for making 90 percent of all optional summer practices and lift workouts. I maintain a range of athletic skills by participating in and earning varsity letters in Track and Field, and Competition Cheer through the school year.
Football has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I had 5 years of tackle football experience before I got to high school and began playing on the high school football team. Standing at 5’9” and 180 pounds, I play varsity center. During the 2017 season, I helped to take my team back to the state playoffs after 6 years of no appearance at the state level. On the way, I earned a Pierce County League Honorable Mention for my position. The Braves went to the first round of the state playoffs again in 2018. I earned the honor of Pierce County League First Team OL.
I plan to earn a degree in sports medicine in college. I understand that sports medicine is a competitive field, so I am actively pursuing this goal during high school. At Bethel High School, I have completed and passed all classes available in the sports medicine program. During this time, I have also completed a total of 20 hours of sports medicine apprenticeship with the basketball team.
