Football has been a passion of mine since I was 10 years old. Playing college football has been a dream of mine ever since I began the sport. And I am practicing, lifting, playing the game, and learning as much as I can to have that be my reality. I enjoy taking my coaches’ knowledge and applying it to my game which has allowed me to be the player that I am today. I am aggressive and dynamic on the field. My tape shows how I performed last year and with the teaching of my new coaches, hard work with the team and personally, & experience from the past few years, I know my tape/ performance will continue to improve.
My grit and perseverance are noticeable on and off the field. Positions that I play include defensive: middle linebacker/ inside linebacker/ outside backer/ d-end/edge; Offensive: I play fullback and can sub at tight end or tailback if needed. I work out year-round and am always trying to become physically and mentally stronger. My current stature of 5’11 205 may be deceiving, but with my bench of 245lbs, squat of 455lbs, hang clean of 245lbs, and deadlift of 505lbs shows that I am solid.
Currently with a 3.0 cumulative GPA, I perform well academically. I am eager to be involved in extra-curricular activities and have many in which I am involved. The one that stands out the most is Boy Scouts. I am currently working on earning my Eagle and should have it complete by next year. I have also wrestled since I was 11 and qualified for states my junior year.
“And fear not them which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28 KJV) This verse is something I have lived by for much of my life. For I fear no one, other than God. For I know that if God can help lift me out from my crude childhood there isn’t a feat I can’t accomplish with his help.
The first 10 years of my life were incredibly challenging and as a result, I ended up in the foster care system. Thankfully my best friend’s family adopted me, and I have been a part of their family since the 6th grade. Now that I am older some of my past is just a memory. But my past has taught me the true meaning of family, and I strive to show every teammate I have the love and encouragement of a brother. Football has helped me grow as a person and mature into the fun loving, flexible, high motored person I am today. I would love to continue to play at the next level.
