I am a senior at Marquette University High School which is an all-male, college preparatory program with a long tradition of academic excellence and the development of "Men for Others". It also has one of the very best athletic programs in the state of Wisconsin.
Marquette has taught me to successfully manage my time between a challenging, college-level course load, athletics (varsity football and track) and community service hour requirements. I believe I am well prepared for the next level. My goals are to earn a degree and play football at a university offering academic excellence and a successful, tradition-based football program with dedicated coaches.
I was designated as the quarterback of the defense this past season at free safety having played both quarterback and safety last year (unusual combination for a program that strictly platoons with over 80 players on varsity). I was named to the 2012 Greater Metro All-Conference Team as a defensive back and finished the season leading our team with 90 tackles (40 solo) placing me 25th in the state. Coaching staff evaluations have been as follows:
"Colin is a tall, fast, smart all-purpose athlete who is a natural free safety that comes up hard and likes to make hits."
"We to a man feel Colin is All-State material...having coached a number of All-State guys, he could be better than all of them. What he brings to the defense is a sense of calm and control getting guys to the right spot."
"I believe he will be playing on Saturdays as a safety. I think his size and skills are DI."
In the off-season I run varsity track as a 110M and 300M hurdler (2012 Regional and Sectional State Championship Finalist). These past two years, I was invited as a prospect to a number of DI, DI-FCS and DII football camps and Junior Day visits. I am also listed as a top quarterback prospect in the state by Scout.com and by the Wisconsin Sports Network.
