Austin Howard '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Austin Howard. I am a senior at Albertville High School in Albertville, AL. I consider myself an all-around athlete. I've played many sports and accelerated at each. I hold several team records on the local swim team. I was pitcher on our junior high baseball team. By the time I reached high school I knew that the basketball court was where I wanted to spend my time. I started playing basketball in rec center league at age 9. I played on a local travel team, and in junior high I started playing on a AAU team out of Huntsville, AL. I've played every position and currently start as Small Forward on my varsity high school team. My biggest weakness is the emotion that I put into the game. I put my heart into every game and sometimes I get down on myself when I don't play perfectly. My greatest strength is that I am very coachable. I listen closely and I am willing to do whatever my coach asks of me. I understand the importance of a good education. I work hard and make good grades. I have a very good GPA and ACT score. I plan to pursue a degree in the medical field but I love basketball and it is my goal to continue playing while I further my education.
