Basketball became my passion in the seventh grade and has grown ever since. Through tough seasons and circumstances I have continued to put in hard work through training and skill development. My coaches say I have a strong work ethic, great footwork, shooting skills, and court awareness.
A unique characteristic of mine is my personal drive. My grandfather likes to tell the story that at 2 1/2 years old I ran the complete length of our local college track. Once I set my mind to something, I am focused. I spend time everyday working on skills, shooting outside or in the gym, watching videos, and just trying to enhance my game in any way possible.
While academics may not be my strongest asset, I understand its importance and am willing to put in the extra time to succeed. Through my junior year, I attended a college prep high school and was academically challenged throughout my time there. My senior season I transferred to a much larger public high school in the area. I really wanted to push myself and play at higher level of competition. Making this move helped me to become a more well rounded player. Basketball I.Q. is also very important and something I constantly want to improve. I want to have the skills to make quick and smart decisions for myself and my team.
In conclusion, my goal is to play basketball after high school. Wherever that might be, I want to be the best player and person I can be to contribute to my team. Thank you for your consideration!
