Basketball has forever been my biggest passion. From the moment I stepped onto the court at 11 years old, and bought my first hoop for one dollar, I knew that basketball was going to be my die-hard sport and lead me to be a relentless competitor. For me, basketball is a teacher of life; leading my competitive spirit and building on my character as a leader with integrity. Academically, I have been on First Class Honours every year in high school. Also, I volunteer as an assistant coach for B.C Special Olympics Basketball.
My goal is to compete at the college/university level. To achieve my goal, I follow a very strict nutritional program and I practice everyday both on the court and in the weight room. I am a consistent scorer who knocks down the 3 point shot persistently, and slashes down the lane for a dunk or a layup with a quick first step. I pride myself on my athleticism and above average vertical leap. This allows me to contribute with both defensive and offensive rebounds. On the defensive end, I take initiative to stop the leading scorers, and work hard to keep my man in an offensive slump. Every game I pick up the opposing team's guards full court and cause turnovers. My relentless work ethic on defence has allowed me to rack up over 3 steals per game.
I have a high work ethic and I am not afraid to push harder than competitors to gain a leading edge. I watch film of games I have played in order to improve. I have learned that while loving all the hours I put into developing, I am always learning and improving each time I am on the court. I consider myself a student of the game and being coach-able is something I take very seriously. I always stay after practice to further my game, and strive to be the hardest worker.
