Personal Statement

I've always been someone that coaches, teachers, and my parents have called a leader.  I work hard at my studies, and know that sometimes free time gets sacrificed for my education or athletic aspirations.  I have always enjoyed school, and have been fortunate to do well academically.  As an athlete, I have been called dedicated, hard-working, and coachable.  I consider myself to be unselfish on the court; always looking to make my team better.  However, I am also dedicated to improving my own game, attending various camps, and spending summer with a personal trainer/coach.

Of course, the ultimate dream is to make it big in basketball -- especially if I can play for my favorite school, Duke University.  I am currently a starter for my Freshman team, and am excited to play throughout high school.  I also know that education is important and look forward to studying in business, perhaps owning my own company one day.

Volunteer work is also important to me.  I have been fortunate to have been blessed with parents that could afford to pay for my various athletics, and enjoy the feeling I get when I know I'm helping others.
