I am a 6’10, 240-pound Center/Power Forward from Vancouver, BC Canada.
I attend St. George’s High School and I am a starter for their Senior Varsity basketball team.
As our season is almost ending. My team lost in the finals of the Vancouver Lower Mainland 4A Varsity Championships on February 24th. I was named 1st Team All Star, scoring 26 points, 22 rebounds in the finals.
My team has advanced to the 2017 BC High School Boys 4A Championships March 8th-11th. to be held at the Langley Event Centre in Langley, BC. https;//bchighschoolbasketballchampionships.com The top 16 4A BC High School Teams will compete for the title.
I had a strong start to the 2016/17 season scoring 38 points and 19 rebounds in our season opener. I have been averaging 25 points per game and my record for rebounds is 28.
Before Christmas my team finished second in the Kodiak Klassic Sr. Boys Basketball tournament December 1st-3rd, 2016 where the top sixteen 4A teams in British Columbia competed. I received a 1st Team All Star. My average points per game for the tournament were 21.75, 15 rebounds. Avg to date is 25 and 15.8 rebounds. Unfortunately we lost our top point guard to a torn ACL in the final so we have had to rebuild our team without Jon.
After Christmas my team toured in California where we played in the Monrovia High School, San Gabriel Classic. We placed 8th out of 16 teams and I received a 1st All Star.
I have received numerous MVP, All Star and Man of the Match Awards while playing for St. George’s and while captain, I was awarded the coveted Oliver Cup MVP in my Junior year for my team.
Off the court, I have received Special Recognition in Drawing and Painting. My current Grade 12 GPA 3.5. ACT 21.
I have played AAU club basketball for 5 years for Drive Elite. It is British Columbia’s top premiere club. We consistently place in the top brackets in the Pacific Northwest tournaments. In 2014 we made the “Elite 8” at the Las Vegas Classic and 2015 we made it to the “Sweet 16” defeating some top AAU powerhouses. Avg points per game 10, rebounds 8. I feel playing against teams in the States showcase’s my strength and size.
I have always been tall for my age and have been developed as a “big”. I have worked hard to be physical and tough and to dominate around the basket. I have a great left and right jump hook shot as well as a good inside and perimeter paint jump shot. I am a defensive stopper, aggressive re-bounder and always trying to improve my presence in the paint. I trained in Croatia last summer to develop my overall skill level.
I have been accepted to several top Universities in Canada however I am still weighing my options before I commit anywhere. I remain determined to find a University that is supportive of my athletic aspirations to play ball at a top basketball program and to pursue a business education.
