My name is Luke Van Groningen and I am a 6'4" 200 lb small forward and go to Central Valley Christian high school. As a sophomore, I started on varsity. I only played in a few tournaments before I unfortunately broke my foot. Because I lost most of the season due to my injury, I will be participating in multiple camps this summer and fall. My Basketball coach has a big influence on my life, not just including basketball. He has taught me how to play not only for me and my team but for God. I became interested in Basketball in 7th grade. I knew I was one of the better kids in the city league I played for but I wanted to be the best. My academic goals for high school are very important to me. I need to stay above a 3.7 GPA in order to get into the colleges that I would prefer to go to. One of the biggest obstacles I had to overcome was in this last year. I had never been injured before to where it was season ending. I never knew how hard it was to watch your team and not play, but it made me want to accomplish my goals even more. I am very coachable and ready to give it 100%.
