Personal Statement

I believe my basketball IQ, my athleticism, and defense make me a good choice for a team. I tore my meniscus after 6 games my freshman year when I played JV. My main goal during rehab was to make the varsity team as a sophomore, which I did. My next goal was to make a high level AAU team where I could have the chance to play in front of college coaches and I made the Stockton Soldiers which is part of the Oakland Soldiers/EYBL program. I mostly play power forward and center since I'm usually the tallest or 2nd tallest for my AAU team., but I'm expanding my game to play more on the perimeter. The best parts of my game are rebounding, blocking shots and my ability to guard multiple positions.

Won MVP award at Bay Area Sports MLK Tournament January 14-15, 2017. Averaged 11.3 pts, 16.3 rebs, & 2.6 blks. Championship game I had 17 pts 21 rebs & 2 blks.

6’5 PF/SF Isaiah Gomez of Vanden HS (2022) Gomez is a versatile combo forward who score in a lot of different ways. He can handle the ball some and can pull up in the half court, and he can break down the defender on the one-bounce drive. Gomez shoots it ok in the mid-range and he has a nice jump hook on the block. He also passes it fairly well and can find the open man. He is a solid rebounder who owns it if he get his hands on it. He is a solid prospect who belongs on the 2022 radar for coaches to check out.

This one-day camp provides aspiring collegiate basketball players an opportunity to experience high level skill development and competition under the direction of the Gator coaching staff.
