Bryan Carrillo '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 19 year old 2nd year student. I was a starter on my high school basketball team and leading 3-point shooter. All my life I have wanted to play basketball at the collegiate level. I have yet to achieve this. Last summer, I had the opportunity to play on a travel club team that traveled to Germany and Belgium to play European teams. That experience challenged me, but also gave me a new sense of confidence that I didn’t have in high school. I have become a more assertive offensive and defensive player, specifically in rebounding. The Germany trip also taught me not to be so timid and now I am more aggressive under the basket. I learned that it is okay to make mistakes because that means that I am pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. Although I was not playing on an organized team, while I was focusing on my first year studies, I continued to play at my college gym three to five times a week at UC Santa Barbara last year. I have returned to So Cal to transfer to another university to pursue my selected major in business (UCSB does not have a Business Admin program) and to be closer to my family. I still long to fulfill my goal to play on a college team. I bring a diverse set of skills; 3-point shooting, court awareness, facilitator, and a desire to make my teammates better. My NCSA video demonstrates my basic high school skills, but keep in mind that my play has drastically matured. I welcome the opportunity to demonstrate my skills for your team.
