My name is Daniel Whaley I am a 6’0 150lbs two way guard at Lathrop High School. My major in college is going to be business which I have a very strong interest in. I want to play for a team who believes I can contribute all around.
I am a leader amongst my peers. I am fast & versatile when I'm on the floor, and I have excellent court vision, also I'm capable of playing multiple positions. I bring a lot to a team. One of my best strengths is that I am a fast learner which makes me a better and coachable player. I excel at both sides of the ball. My speed is what makes me stand out, I always use it to my advantage. Being able to push the ball down court and beat the defense as well as getting back on defense benefits my team and I. Playing defense is my most favorite, I never back down from the challenge no matter the size of the person who ever is in front of me will always have to work every possession to score, my passion for defense is at an all time high I take pride in it.
What makes me different from other recruits is that I am very selfless and I put my team before myself. For me it's defense that turns into great offense. Getting my teammates the ball and setting them up to score is a must for me that is what makes us thrive as a team. Recently I was selected for Offensive Player Of The Year & also All League 1st Team(2019-2020). The biggest goal going into my senior year is to win Lathrop its first section title.
