I am going to college to earn an education beyond high school and to better financially prepare myself in adult life. Since I have started elementary school, I have worked hard to learn more each day and help my classmates that were having a difficult time understanding our class assignments. I think because I was able to comprehend my school work easier, my teachers saw that my class mates were able to understand things more from me; someone their own age.
Since Kindergarten all the way through Junior High, I have had perfect attendance and consecutively had nothing but straight As; earning, the Honor of being on Principle’s List and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I feel this is important because it shows my dedication, even when challenged to want better for myself.
I also want to go to college to play basketball. Since I was younger, I have played a number of sports with basketball being one of my favorite. My parents taught us that it was important to be on a team because you learn discipline, dedication, and how to work with others. They have also taught me that it is important to help others…, which is why they have had me volunteering in community service, volunteering at Hanford Soup Kitchen, Madera Ronald McDonald house, Nursing home, and concession stands for local events.
I am excited as well as a little nervous about this next chapter in my life. As I prepare for college, I will continue to work hard in my studies, sports, helping parents, volunteering, and graduating High school with Honors.
