I began playing basketball in the fifth grade, mainly because I was taller than most kids my age. I quickly realized basketball was something I am passionate about and wanted to excel in. As I continued to play over the years I have worked hard to better my game by attending camps, working with coaches, playing AAU ball in addition for my school, and working on my strength and conditioning. Basketball has taught me that preparation is key in being successful, this can only help me in college and life in general.
My dream is to play on a professional team. I realize that it is a lofty goal, so while I intend to work hard and be persistent to achieve that goal, I will also use my college time to earn my degree in Environmental Science so when my basketball career has ended I can become a Game Warden. My family has instilled in me a love of fishing, hunting, wild life and the outdoors. They have supported my love of basketball and passed on their values of hard work and team playing, always pushing me to do my best and strive to better myself every day and every game. I look forward to college and being part of a team and competing with them to reach new levels of success.
