I started playing basketball my freshman year and, fortunately, I had a great motivator: I was told I should not be allowed on the freshmen team because I did not have varsity potential. I persisted, barely made the team, and sat the bench. This motivated me more, and I began spending extra nights each week on top of my school's training doing advanced drills, conditioning, and increasing my basketball I.Q. with a variety of coaches and programs. For the last four years, I trained extra nights each week in basketball even while competing at the varsity level in two other sports.
I just finished my senior season as team co-captain at the same school I began playing and:
* Was one of our leading scorers and defenders
* Produced at multiple positions on the floor
* Made 2nd Team All-Conference
* Was selected for the Riverside County All-Stars Game
Coaches who watch me play often comment on my athleticism and versatility. To prepare for my college basketball career, I am now immersed in an aggressive skills and athleticism training regiment. Some video of my training will be posted soon.
Throughout high school I have maintained a high GPA in advanced classes. I have also been active as an AVID tutor. I will apply myself to both academics and basketball in college with a constant drive for personal, athletic, and academic growth. My goal is to be a member of a team that demands excellence on and off the court, and I want to contribute hard work, determination, and tenacity to that program.
