Dylan Damico '20 Recruiting Profile

I feel in love with game of basketball at a young age and I have enjoyed putting in hours and hours in the gym getting better every chance I've gotten. Getting to start and lead my high school varsity team is one of the greatest accomplishments my life.  However, I feel like I grew more as a person and as a player riding the bench earlier on in my high school career. That experience helped me realize you can't just sit back and hope things happen, and started putting countless hours in the gym.  Also, it adds a dimension to my game where I'm willing to dive on the ball, take a charge, or jump over chairs because ever minute you're on the floor matters. All this helped me guard and rebound the ball over people way taller than and becoming a way better defender playing my minutes like their my last.

I'm fortunate to have a great team and coach to help me push forward both academically and athletically, and look to continue to get better with them over the next year. I learned the value of communication, teamwork, sacrifice, leadership, and hard work this year leading my team into every game. I believe I not only have the talent to play at the college level, but also, the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.  Being the captain of every high school team I've been on,  I know I have what it takes to lead in the locker room for your team.
