Personal Statement

My high school goals are to finish top 10% or better in academics in my class. My collegiate goals are to get my education completely payed for with a full ride and not only excel on the court but in the classroom. My plan would be to play professionally, and if that doesn't work, teach or work at ESPN as a job finding stats or such. My dream would be to get a full ride for college because I would get to play the game I love as well as get my education for little cost to me or my parents. I am a good candidate because I lead the team through loses and wins, on and off the court. I also have the mindset that I will outwork any player on my team, conference, state, and world. My first year playing high school basketball my team and I lost many games with very few wins. I used that to grow and become a better person in life and on the court. My second year of high school, I was captain of the team and helped lead my team to the first league win in over three years. I won First team all league and Mvp for my team my sophomore year. My Junior year I led my team to second in league and a regular season improvement from 7-14 to 17-8. I know how to and want to win. I will pick up full court defense and dive for loose balls. My best skills are controlling the tempo, breaking down my defender, breaking down the ballhandler on defense, and my pull-up midrange to 3. I am a floor general who leads the offense vocally and by example. Respect is one of the most important things you need to have, athlete or not, and I hold it highly.
