Personal Statement

In My family education comes first, family comes second, and fun comes last. Going to college or gaining any post-secondary education is at the top of the priority list in my household. For a three sport athlete the pressure to maintain this standard is very strong. A strong work ethic is an absolute must to have for anyone who wants to go anywhere. I apply this work ethic to school, basketball, baseball, football, conditioning, and any other aspect of my life. I love the thrill of competition and every time I step on a basketball court or turn in an assignment, I truly believe that I have done my best. My parents used to nag me constantly about effort repeatedly saying. "If you're going to do something why not give it your all?" and this has rubbed off on me over the years. I often find myself to this day asking this same question. There is nothing I enjoy more than the thrill of competition and nothing that irritates me more than the pain of losing. Competition and the urge to play is in my blood. I have played a game with a broken knee cap, broken fingers, broken wrists, and through countless colds, stomach bugs, and fits of coughing. Almost nothing can suppress my urge to play. As a player leadership is my best quality I have been the captain of almost all the teams I have played. When an official captain hasn't been named for the team I step up and help lead. I am a very good listener and I want so very badly to attend college and advance all of these skills.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
