Personal Statement

I was born into basketball. I've been watching it ever since I was old enough to understand the concept of it. I've been playing since I was about 5 years old.

I'm either working on my game or working to get stronger almost every day. I try to be the best player and person I can be. I'm working to be a great player to play competitive basketball.

I'm a shooter from nearly anywhere as soon as I cross the half court line. I have really good range. I'm not the fastest player on the court but I can lock up someone on defense and make it hard for anyone to get what they want on offense. I can still work on it though. I'm an all around player too. I can play nearly every position a coach puts me at.

I train my basketball skills with Mike Lyons who is playing in the D-League and close to making it to the next level. I do strength, agility, and explosion training with Jamille Cooks who played in the NFL. So I'm getting the best work from some of the best.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • MidWest Elite Basketball camp
  • 8/04/18 to 8/05/18
  • It was really an all around offensive camp. We worked on getting our shots off and using your off-hand a lot more than we are used to. We also were trained to be creative in tight areas such as the paint and being able to get shots off in the paint as a guard. Also, we really competed against one another to try to be the best in the camp.
  • Camp/Event
  • Denver University Basketball Camp
  • 6/30/18 to 6/30/18
  • There were a lot of other players at the camp. We spent the first little bit of the camp looking at the basketball team's film room, weight room, and locker room and also learning how to stretch the body the right way before a game or even practice. Then the rest was all about competing against each other such as 1 on 1 and 5 on 5.
  • Camp/Event
  • Xavier Ford Camp
  • 5/19/18 to 5/19/18
  • This camp was geared around seeing who we are as players and dividing us into groups depending on your skill level. When we got into the groups, that's when we started doing competition drills such as the 1 minute shooting drill to see who can make the most buckets and the rest was all 3 on 3 and 5 on 5.

Training

  • Strength and Agility Training
  • 2 years
  • My trainer is Jamille Cooks who played football not too long ago at a very high level. We train 4 days a week on strengthening my body so it will be able easier to take contact in the game. We also do explosion drills so I can be faster, quicker, and more explosive in anything I do. We really work on it all.
  • Basketball Training
  • 3 years
  • I train with Mike Lyons who was one of the top scorers in history at the college of Air Force. We train at a high intensity and we work on making my offensive game more and more deadly. We train on making my handles tighter and quicker. We work on many different combinations and progressions to each drill and we really focus on different types of jumpsuits that will make me harder to guard.
