Personal Statement

Back in the 8th grade, I went to try out for a club basketball team. I believed I was pretty good, but I didn’t make the team. I remember it was a really humbling experience. But it also gave me motivation. I worked as hard as I could for 6 months and eventually became the starter on their national team. This experience taught me KD’s quote is true. “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard”. I learned that if I want something, I have to go out and work to get it.

I was 4 years old when I started playing basketball. I loved watching the Nuggets play with my dad and I wanted to become a basketball player just like Chauncey Billups. I have learned that I am a hard worker while playing basketball. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make myself better and to make my team better. I hope to finish with a gpa greater than a 3.85 and I want to receive a college degree.

Overall, I feel I am a hard worker. I have a desire to win and I want to live up to my potential academically and through basketball.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
